There WILL BE a Midwest Scroll Saw Trade Show next August! The Vets from Dubuque will be helping out with it and we will move it from Richland Center to Dubuque, IA on August 14 & 15, 2015.

 

We met last weekend to begin planning, so everything is just in the beginning stages at this point.

 

So if you have any ideas to pass along...I tried to keep the suggestion notes as they came in, but I'm not sure I can find them all again. It has been two long years in between and a lot has happened. So I won't be offended if you remind me. :)

 

The show will be very similar to previous ones with display tables, classes etc. We want to include other aspects of woodworking as well - carving, woodturning, woodburning, etc.

 

Dubuque is a city of about 50,000 and so it has many more motel rooms available for people to stay. It's right on the Mississippi River and has a great Museum and River Center, it has a couple of casinos, theater, music, and art venues and many other things to keep people entertained when they are not at the trade show. It also has an airport. It's only about 1-1/2 hrs SW of R.C. so if people came to that show it won't be much farther to come to DBQ (it may be closer for you guys?).

 

I know Dirk would be happy to see the show continue, we were in the process of talking to the Vets about it when he passed on... So the Vets and I are excited to be planning the show for next year and hope we can count on you to help pass the word. I think it's fitting that it's called the "Midwest" Scroll Saw Trade Show and it has been held in Illinois, Wisconsin and now Iowa.
